Indian banking sector

'The Indian banking sector has been witnessing rising NPAs over the last few years. While research has focused on identifying reasons – whether environmental, or systemic, the Reserve Bank of India has been working on various mechanisms whereby stressed

bank assets can be reconverted into being productive. Thus, the Indian banking system has seen a slew of measures over the last few years to combat the NPA issue. This article reviews these measures as the banking sector goes through a transition over the last decade culminating with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy code being passed recently this year.'

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) was constituted in 1972, following the enactment of the Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972. Its Chairman and Deputy Chairman are appointed by the State Government. It has 16 ex officio members, and 44 other members drawn from academic organizations, legislative bodies and civil society. Various Committees with specific responsibilities function under the Board, such as the Executive Committee, Examination Committee, Finance Committee, Education Committee, and Magazine Advisory Committee.
